Thank you for stopping by to show your interest.  Vision Africa was launched in May,  2007 by Mission Community Church.  Mission has partnered with Somebody Cares, an organization in Lilongwe, Malawi, to help minister to widows and orphans affected by HIV/AIDS.  In October, 2007, Mission adopted a village called Chikudzulire and has since sent teams to help with medical & construction needs.

This blog will be helpful in keeping up with the team's progress and can be used to get regular updates on Vision Africa.

By JP Nelson in General
Saturday and Sunday (Oct 10th & 11th)the Oct Malawi team was commissioned by Pastor Connelly and the church body. The seven member team completed several weeks of training in preparation of their two week trip to Malawi. They will depart the church at 8:00 AM Sunday morning October 18th, and will arrive in Lilongwe, Malawi at noon Tuesday. One of the objectives of this trip is to build a play ground for the children of Chikudzulire, but the team is primarily focused on how God will lead them in service with Some Body Cares. The team members are: Jake Peters, Spencer Brannan, Bruce Brannan, JP Nelson, Dave Wahlers, Mendy Southard & Mallorie Shaffer. See gallery for team picture. The entire team would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the many people who are supporting them with financial donations, prayers and their many words of encouragement. The team will return to Arizona on November 2, 2009, and plan to host a Mission Celebration at Mission Community Church at 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 22, 2009. Please check back with this site as updates and reports will be posted during the trip.
